The Most Popular Argan Oil Uses

Virgin Argan OilArgan Oil is an oil which comes from a nut that grows in Morocco. For generations, people from Morocco have used Argan oil as a multi-purpose natural wonder - to nourish their skin and hair, to heal wounds and get rid of rashes. There are so many different Argan oil uses that UNESCO declared the Argan forest a Biosphere Reserve in 1998.

Argan oil has become well known outside of Morocco now. There are a lot of people who are aware of the Argan oil uses for cosmetic purposes, but there are also people who use Argan Oil to treat skin conditions ranging from eczema to bug bites. Perhaps the most well-known use for Argan oil, though, is as a moisturizer that helps with both your skin and hair.

Argan oil works well as a moisturizer because it contains tocopherol - a part of Vitamin E, which helps to boost new cell production - giving you healthy skin and hair. This is a part of the reason that so many cosmetic companies now add Argan Oil to their skin care and hare care products.

You don't have to spend a lot of money on luxury hair or skin care products - you can buy just the oil itself, and this makes a great moisturizer by itself. Pure Argan oil is expensive, but you don't need to use a lot of it - a drop or two is all it takes to treat your skin or hair.

Let's take a look at a few of the most beneficial Argan oil uses:

An Alternative to Chap Stick

In the winter, when the weather is cold and dry, your skin can dry out. Use argan oil instead of Vaseline. Just us a drop on your lips and on your nose. Put the drop on your finger and gently tap it on to the areas that you want to protect. This will form a fine protective layer on the skin, and the vitamin E and Vitamin A in the oil will help promote the regrowth of healthy cells, keep the skin moisturized, and reduce the appearance of fine wrinkles.

As a Toner

Skin toning is an important thing to remember if you want to improve your skin care routine. To promote a nice all-over glow, use 2-4 drops of Argan Oil in a cup of green tea (steep the tea bag for 10 minutes, then remove it and let the tea cool).  Add your favorite essential oil (just a drop) for scent, and then the Argan oil. Mix it up and use it in the place of a normal commercial toner. Your routine should be to cleanse, tone and then moisturize. If you keep the toner in an air tight vessel, it should last for a week or two - but throw it out if it starts to smell strange or cloud.

Exfoliation

Exfoliation is perhaps one of the less well-known Argan oil uses, but it is certainly a good one. You can make your own exfoliator using a tablespoon of brown sugar and a drop of Argan oil. Just massage the mixture into your face, rubbing in a circular motion. Spend two minutes doing this, working in particular on any areas where you have dry skin, and any areas where you are prone to acne. You should find that you are left with a fresher, younger-looking complexion, and that the nutrients from the Argan oil are easily absorbed into your skin thanks to the action of the brown sugar. You can use this mixture anywhere - not just on your face. Try using it to get rid of dead skin on your knees, elbows or feet, for example. It may take several treatments to soften up really hard patches of dead skin, but Argan oil works really well for this because the linoleic acid in the oil helps with getting rid of acne and keeping the skin healthy. The sugar helps to slough away the actual dead skin - but it's the Argan oil that makes sure that you replace that dead skin with fresh, healthy skin.

Treating Acne

As mentioned earlier, Argan oil can help to reduce the appearance of acne. Exfoliating your skin can help to remove blockages from the pores, ensuring that your skin is as healthy as possible. But that's not the only way that Argan oil can help to stop acne in its tracks. You can use Argan oil to get rid of white heads and spots. Make a solution of green tea, tee tree oil and Argan oil, and dab it on the spots. The tea tree acts as an anti-bacterial agent, helping to get rid of any nasties growing on your skin, while the Argan oil nourishes the skin itself.

General Skin Care

Argan oil is something that you should definitely add to your skin care regimen. As a moisturizer and anti-aging agent, it helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and age lines, and make your skin more elastic. This can be beneficial not just for the facial area, but for other parts of your body as well. If you're losing weight and worried about loose skin or stretch marks, rub Argan oil on your stomach, thighs or other areas where you're worried about how your body is changing, and watch as over time your skin 'bounces back' to how it should be. This happens because of the powerful combination of Vitamins A and E in the oil, as well as the soothing effect of the oil itself.

You can apply the oil to your skin, and it may be a good idea to warm it up in your hands slightly first. Do this after you've been in the shower and your pores are still open. If you apply the oil after you shave, then you should find that your skin seems less irritated, and that you experience fewer ingrown hairs too.

Hair Care

Argan oil is a great hair treatment too. Instead of spending a lot of money on leave-in conditioners, just comb a few drops of Argan oil into your hair to tame frizzy hair, stop your braids from being fly-away, and protect your hair from the damage that things like curlers and hair dryers do to it.  If you rub the oil into the scalp, then you can enjoy some benefits from hair growth as well.

It may take practice to figure out the right amount of Argan oil to use. People with very short hair will find that a drop is more than enough, but as your hair gets longer you don't add more oil in a linear fashion - too much will make your hair look greasy. Rather, you should just add half a drop at a time, massaging into the scalp and through the hair itself. Once you've covered your hair, if you've still got some left on your hands, dab it onto your neck to moisturize that area too.

You can leave Argan oil in your hair overnight to give it a 'deep conditioning' treatment, then wash it out in the morning.

There are many other uses for this amazing oil. Why not buy a bottle today and try adding it to your day-to-day skin care regimen. You may be surprised at how helpful it can be, and how much you will come to rely on it instead of over-priced commercial products that are full of chemicals of questionable value.

Vizeri Beauty's 100% Pure Organic Argan oil is the kind Moroccan people use. It gives you 100% of the benefits of this miraculous oil since it has not been through the harmful deodorization process other brands use to make their oil unscented.
